What Is A Plus Size Figure?
In the shapewear world, a plus size figure is anything over a size 18. Most shapewear brands make shapewear up to a size 18 as part of their standard range. Fewer brands make shapewear over this size.
The Best Plus Shapewear Brands Are:
Trinny and Susannah do excellent plus size shapewear. Their all in ones go up to a UK dress size 22 with a waist measurement of 40" and hip measurment of 50". The larger sizes are very well constructed and have ample length and fabric to help cover and slim you. They also are made from EXTRA FIRM control fabric that really helps to suck everything in.
Esbelt
The Esbelt Waist Cincher is one of my favourite pieces of shapewear. It really TRANSFORMS your figure as it is so strong. It is boned and made from latex rubber (with soft cotton lining) and so really has the power to hold you in and make a big difference. Size wise, the largest size it goes up to is the 4XL which fits a UK dress size 28 or a weight of 20 stones.
Spanx actually do a decent amount of plus size shapewear. The two really good pieces of Spanx shapewear for plus sizes are:
The Spanx Higher Power Shorts. This goes up to a waist measurement of 42" which is a UK dress size 22. This shapewear is EXCELLENT at slimming from your mid thighs to just under your bust. It will slim your hips, thighs, bottom, tummy and waist. It stays in place without straps, but do tuck it under your bra to keep it firmly in place. It is FIRM in slimming control and is super comfy to wear.
Spanx Oncore Open Bust Shapewear Bodysuit. This goes up to a waist measurement of 39" which is a UK dress size 20. It is an EXTRA FIRM control bodysuit that really does help to suck everything in and create a really smooth line under your clothes. It works incredibly well under tight dresses and stops all those lumps and bumps from showing through.
